Bio's

Jack Frank
   Jack Frank is the director of the Central Grizzly Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, and Concert Band. He also teaches Strings, Woodwinds, Brass, and AP Music Theory. He holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Iowa in Bass Trombone Performance and Music Education.  After serving as Director of Bands at West Branch High School, Mr. Frank got his Master’s in Music from the University of Northern Iowa in Instrumental Conducting. 
    Mr. Frank has experience conducting concert bands and wind ensembles at the middle school, high school, and collegiate levels. He has also served as the director of the Iowa City New Horizons Band. On top of his conducting, Mr. Frank is a skilled arranger, adjudicator, and drill writer. He is currently working on helping revive the music of Julia Perry and is very passionate about diversity in wind ensemble literature advocating for underrepresented wind composers. 
    While Mr. Frank is from Iowa, his wife and new puppy are very excited about joining the Fresno community!

​Sarah Pearce
 is the assistant band director and percussion director at Central High School.  She also teaches piano classes as well as general music at Roosevelt Elementary.  She has worked for Central Unified since 2010 and has been teaching in Fresno since 2008.  She has a BA in Music Education with an emphasis in percussion and a BA in Psychology from CSU, Fresno.
     Ms. Pearce directs the Central High Indoor Percussion ensemble which, in 2014, earned multiple 1st place finishes including the SJVCGPR Final and a WGI Regional competition. What you may not know is that it was this very same year that the percussion ensemble was upgraded to the Open Class competition. ​

Andrew Munoz
directs the jazz band, and is the music fundamentals instructor at Central High School. Additionally, he teaches the jazz ensemble at El Capitan Middle School, and vocal, and general music at Steinbeck and Tilley elementary schools. He has worked for Central Unified since 2013. Prior to that, he taught music in the Lemoore Union Elementary School District, as well as in the Poway Unified School District. He holds a Masters of Music degree in Jazz Studies from San Diego State University, and a Bachelors of Arts degree in Music Education from CSU Fresno.
 
In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Andrew is a freelance pianist performing with numerous bands in the Central Valley. He is also an active jazz clinician, adjudicator, and private piano instructor.
