Your Central High School Wind Ensemble has been accepted into California All-State Music Education Conference or (CASMEC). It would be similar to the Superbowl of Music in California. It is an event where bands from all over the state of California come to learn and collaborate with other bands. Many bands apply, but few are invited to participate. Being accepted to this Conference is a high honor and for the next three year's this event will be held in Fresno.

California’s music education associations, CAJ, CBDA, CCDA, CMEA, and CODA welcome you to Fresno for an amazing weekend of music making, sharing, learning and collaboration! You won’t want to miss the many concerts and clinics presented by statewide and nationally acclaimed leaders in our profession. Sessions and concerts are designed to meet current and practical professional development needs for all California music educators. 2019 CASMEC Professional Development Clinics include sessions on ESSA, engagement strategies, assessment, classroom management, diversifying your music program, music education in an urban setting, advocacy, the new state-approved Core Arts Standards, band, orchestra, choir, jazz, general music, world music, special learners, pedagogy, composition, music technology, improvisation, music literature, and more. The session descriptions and conference schedule will be posted soon on the CASMEC website, www.casmec.org. You will also be able to enjoy concerts by all of the California All-State Ensembles, which will be performing in Fresno during the CASMEC weekend.
